The bioRe® quality labels

The bioRe® brand stands for the world’s highest standards with regard to organic cotton and fair-trading. The brand is owned by the bioRe® Foundation. Remei AG, the exclusive licensee, guarantees full traceability along the entire production and value chain.

bioRe® Sustainable Textiles

The bioRe® Sustainable Textiles quality label marks pieces of clothing from bioRe® organic cotton produced ecologically and on fair terms.

Use of the bioRe® Sustainable Textiles quality label will give your products a distinct profile in a blurred organic-cotton market and make buying decisions easier for your interested consumers. A code is sewn into each piece of clothing, enabling consumers to trace all production steps right back to farming. In addition, the Traceability Tool offers access to authentic stories, photos and videos.

The fair-trading organic cotton from which the pieces of clothing marked with the bioRe® Sustainable Textiles quality label are made originates from controlled organic farming by smallholders in India and Tanzania. Non-GMO seeds are used for growing the organic cotton.

Remei grants the bioRe® farmers, who have a say in farming decisions, a purchase guarantee for their cotton crop and pays a 15% premium on the market price for the fibres harvested.

Under the bioRe® Sustainable Textiles quality label, use of genetic engineering, pesticides and toxic substances is fully excluded from cultivation. Compliance with the most demanding ecological and social requirements is guaranteed throughout the process and including products ready for sale. The entire manufacturing process is CO2-neutral. All process steps along the fully transparent supply chain are subject to strict monitoring by independent certification agencies within the scope of the control system.

bioRe® Sustainable Cotton

The bioRe® Sustainable Cotton quality label marks yarns made from bioRe® organic cotton and produced ecologically and on fair terms.

Use of the bioRe® Sustainable Cotton quality label will give your products a distinct profile in a blurred organic-cotton market and make buying decisions easier for your interested consumers.

The fair-trading cotton marked with the bioRe® Sustainable Cotton quality label originates from controlled organic farming by smallholders in India and Tanzania. Non-GMO seeds are used for growing the organic cotton. As it is increasingly difficult for farmers to obtain non-GMO seeds, Remei India Ltd. has begun to produce its own organic cotton seeds. The bioRe® Foundation supports and promotes this research project.

Remei grants the farmers, who have a say in farming decisions, a purchase guarantee for their cotton crop and pays a 15% premium on the market price for the fibres harvested.

Under the bioRe® Sustainable Cotton quality label, use of genetic engineering, pesticides and toxic substances is fully excluded from cultivation. Compliance with the most demanding ecological and social requirements is guaranteed from organic cotton through ginning to finished yarns.
