Remei x Panoco Trading

WE THANK PANOCO TRADING FROM TOKYO FOR THE GOOD PARTNERSHIP WITH REMEI FOR MORE THAN 22 YEARS

In August this year, the managing directors of both companies, Simon Hohmann and Kimio Nokura, met in the Meatu region in Tanzania, where the Tanzanian organic farming company Remei Tanzania is operating, from which the Japanese trading company Panoco receives a large part of its organic cotton needs for yarn, fabric and textiles.

The long-standing relationship between the companies is not only based on a common standard of organic cotton grown according to fair trading principles and meeting the highest ecological standards, but goes far beyond that. A personal friendship has long originated from the trading partnership. Both partners are aware of how important long-term planning and reliable cooperation are in the cotton sector and for the farmers involved.

Kimio Nokura from Panoco Trading adds: “Many thanks to Patrick and Simon. Panoco respects Remei’s philosophy from the beginning and we are very proud to be a user and partner. Because of Covid-19, we couldn’t see each other for a while, but now it was really a good opportunity to meet in Meatu, especially with Shingo Miho together. We wish our long-term and strong relationship will last for a long time!”

The pure and uniquely sustainable organic cotton provided by Remei Tanzania is organically grown and hand-picked by around 2200 smallholder farmers who work together directly and participatively with Remei Tanzania.
