Playful learning about good farming practices for organic cotton with the Snakes and Ladders game at Remei India
The oversized Snake and Ladder Game, set up at organic farming company Remei India in Kasrawad, Madha Pradesh, is one of the company’s latest learning initiatives, offering fellow players the opportunity to learn more about good and bad farming practices in organic cotton production.
If a player lands on a field with “good practices”, he climbs up the ladder; if he lands on a field with “bad practices” or “unexpected rain”, he is bitten by a snake and falls back.
Remei India Ltd. stands at the beginning of the value chain of the Swiss trading company for traceable organic cotton textiles Remei and works directly and participatively with around 3,000 cotton farmers in central India.
Cramming English at the on-site training centre
Many members of the Remei India team are currently improving their English skills. An external English teacher offers regular lessons on site. After 100 hours of learning, the participants receive a certificate of completion.
The acquired knowledge opens up new opportunities for the employees to develop within the company. Good English skills are also particularly important for active participation in the interdisciplinary exchange between the Remei Group locations in Switzerland, India and Tanzania.
