Remei and bioRe Foundation from Switzerland jointly visit the organic cotton growing area in Tanzania and the local organisations

Markus Kunz, Supply Chain Manager at Remei, and Nicola Roten, Managing Director of the bioRe Foundation, travelled together to the organic cotton growing area in Tanzania at the end of January. Programme was to visit the local organisations.

The itinerary also included a visit to a family’s house with an efficient stove financed from C02 compensation payments.

Tanzania is home to Remei Tanzania Ltd, Remei’s organic farming company, which works directly and participatively with around 2,200 contract farmers at the beginning of the supply chain for traceable organic cotton textiles with fair trading practices, and bioRe Foundation Tanzania, which operates in the growing area and drives environmental and social projects together with village communities supported by the Swiss bioRe Foundation.
