“The organic cotton T-shirt may not be as organic as you think” was the headline of a February 2022 New York Times article that didn’t just send shockwaves through the cotton industry.
 
The current Green Knowledge refers to the conclusion of this New York Times article, among others, and reports: “The only way for a brand to ensure that its organic cotton is actually organic is to invest directly in farmers through credible organisations before a single seed is even sown « and adds «One such organisation is the textile trading company Remei.”
