A Milestone for my-trace by Remei

Since 2013, we have equipped over 11 million organic cotton textiles with a digital product passport – traceable from the finished garment all the way back to the seed.

With my trace by Remei, we combine our promise of supply chain-transparency with a technological solution:
A QR code on the textile gives consumers instant access to the complete product journey – from seed to finished textile.

Organic cotton sourced directly from smallholders, genuine transparency in the supply chain, and reliable cooperation are more than just unique position points for us – they are the foundation for future-oriented textile production.

The key?
Close cooperation along the entire value chain – from farmers to industry and our retail partners to consumers. This is how we want to create genuine connection – between the people who produce and those who enjoy textiles.

my-trace by Remei is nominated for the Fair Fashion Award 2024

We would like to thank the jury of the Fair Fashion Award 2024 and are delighted with all the other nominees, especially with COOP naturaline and WE ARE ZRCL!

The traceability of our finished textiles has been a reality since 2013 and we are delighted to be one of the three finalists in the “Established” category of the Fair Fashion Awards 2024.

For this year’s Fair Fashion Award focus topic of transparency, Remei has been working since 1991 to integrate small-scale organic cotton farmers and industry partners into a transparent, complete textile value chain from seed to finished textiles.

Our traceability tool my-trace by Remei has combined Remei’s promise of supply chain transparency with a technological solution since 2013 and was further developed in 2024 to give our production partners in agriculture and industry the visibility they deserve.

Remei produces in a transparent supply chain, which means that all finished textiles for our
B2B-partners are fully traceable back to the origin of the raw material. With their organic cotton ranges, our B2B partners ensure the important offer of traceable textiles for consumers.

my-trace by Remei thus enables the connection from the consumer to the farmer.

The traceability of our ready-made textiles is given. Since 2013.

For Remei, transparency is paramount – it is the only way to realize our vision of systemic change in the textile sector.
Full transparency and strong relationships in the supply chain are the prerequisites for the traceability of ready-made textiles.
We source organic cotton directly from smallholder farmers we work with in India and in Tanzania. Not only is this the only way to build a long-term and meaningful relationship and a positive impact at the raw material level,
but it is also the only level of traceability that really matters.

Remei produces in a transparent supply chain, so all finished textiles are fully traceable back to the source of the raw material for our B2B trading partners.

With our innovation of the traceability tool my trace by Remei, we have been combining our promise of supply chain transparency with a technological solution since 2013. Now we have further developed our long-standing tool to make even more information easier accessible. Above all, however, we are giving our production partners in agriculture and industry the visibility they deserve.
With their organic cotton ranges, our B2B partners ensure the important market supply of traceable textiles for consumers.
my-trace by Remei thus enables the connection between the consumer.
Since 2013.

The Dive

A journey into a regenerative future

It is time for an economy that goes one step further. One that is focused on the successive regeneration of resources and thus serves the entire ecosystem and all the organisms embedded in it.

Marion Röttges, Co-CEO of Remei, participated as a speaker in THE DIVE’s InterStellar Learning Journey and had the privilege to present Remei’s economic model for traceable organic cotton textiles in the Innovative Economic Models format. Many thanks to THE DIVE for the invitation to this inspiring journey.

THE DIVE’s InterStellar Learning Journey is an educational format for leadership and cross-functional teams seeking economic transformation for themselves and their organisations.

First germination tests of own seeds go well

Initial germination tests carried out with the own seeds produced by bioRe India show good results with a germination rate over 90-95%.

Years of testing and trials on GMO-free seed production and cultivation have made bioRe India a specialist in the organic seed sector in India. Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA) has highlighted bioRe India’s expertise in the context of developing the newly published guideline for GMO-free seed production.

Commenting on the guidelines, Vivek Rawal, CEO & Director at bioRe India, said: “Each Indian Farm Group has long been seeking its own remedy for one and the same challenge: procuring reliable non-GM seed for their farmers.”

OCA is very grateful for the input and feedback from technical experts and Indian seed producers, such as bioRe India, who contributed to the development of these guidelines.

Remei is nominated for the Green Business Award 2021

We are very pleased that Remei has been nominated for the Green Business Award 2021 with its “Detox-compliant production solution for textiles”. Together with 36 nominees, we expect the award winners to be announced in September 2021.

The Green Business Award, chaired by Doris Leuthard, honours innovative companies that combine economic success with ecological impact. A unique selection process via national business associations and environmental organisations guarantees that the most convincing solutions are sought out each year. With the “Green Business Award”, among other things, “Green Business Switzerland” focuses on the positive connection between entrepreneurial success and sustainable action.

Namaskar Gold rediscovered

Namaskar Gold is an old, indigenous Indian desi cotton variety that has been rediscovered. Remei is the only company worldwide to produce collections for retailers and brands made from this original and genetically unmodified fibre under the quality label bioRe® Sustainable Textiles.

Remei, together with local partners and the companies of the bioRe® Foundation, initially solved the technical challenge of spinning the old Indian plant species industrially – which was not easy.

With the successful processing of Namaskar Gold, Remei responds to a desire of Indian farmers, provides Namaskar Gold with market access and offers the trade an innovative solution for sustainable organic cotton ranges with high differentiation.

The Desi cotton Namaskar Gold, which is cultivated by small holders in organic farming, is particularly well adapted to the local climatic conditions, more resistant to pests and drought than other varieties and is therefore particularly appreciated by small holders in the growing region in India.

Each Namaskar Gold style meets the highest requirements of the quality label bioRe® Sustainable Textiles for organic cotton and fair trading, is produced ecologically and CO2-neutral, and can be traced back to its origin.
